Greetings Faith Family!
When Faith was migrating from meeting place to meeting place, hospitality was always part and parcel of our church family events. Coffee hour, a place to gather and visit was and is a great place to sip from our warm cups and catch up on our busy lives. On the first Sunday of each month, Faith hosted an extended coffee hour, and we would like to continue that tradition. Rather than a particular host family, the congregation would bring yummy potluck dishes for all to enjoy. Next Sunday, February 3rd, is the first Sunday, so we are asking folks to bring something to share.
Of course, this leaves three or four Sundays each month unaccounted for. We all enjoy those snacks after church that complement our coffee and conversations so well. The church does not buy either the snacks nor the coffee. Everything shared has been provided by folks within the parish. Sheri will be emailing our Faith families to ask if YOU are willing to either host a Sunday solo or join another family to host a hospitality hour.
Hosting a Sunday entails supplying the snacks, setting up before church, and cleaning up after coffee hour. Perhaps you are a great cook, or perhaps you love to run that commercial dishwasher—we will teach you how to operate it if you don’t know. Let Sheri know how you can help and we will fit you into the schedule. If we have enough sign ups, then we should be able to fill a few months’ worth of Sundays before a rotation kicks in again. Are you willing to help? It’s fun and a great way to meet other parish members.
Our first extended coffee hour potluck will be February 3rd, but we need a clean-up crew. The Hurds and Sheri will host February 10th, but because Deb has a BC Meeting and Neil is not yet up to speed, we need someone to help clean up. We need hosts for February 24th and March 10, 17, 24, and 31. A few Faith Members provide the coffee, creamer, tea, and other drinks so you do not need to worry about that unless there is something special you wish to bring.
You know the old saying, “Many hands make light work.” Please come together and help support our wonderful coffee hours. Thank you in advance.
Sheri and Deb
